For some of us, we live for the weekend. There’s nothing better than waking up on a Friday morning and realizing that there are only a few hours left before two days of leisure are upon you. The workday goes by with ease, the stress levels are down, and there is that great sense of relaxation that is waiting just beyond the horizon. These simple sensations are what keep us going, and it always seems that the weekend arrives just when we need it too. The only real problem that comes with the weekend is figuring out things to do. This is where we come in, and highlight some of the weekend events that have us excited to get this weekend started right.
Friday Kicks It Off:
Friday: If you’re like us, you want to get right into the enjoyment as soon as possible. This could either come from a nighttime movie at the theatre, or a simple night out to eat. There are some things going on, however, that might warrant a quick detour from the status quo. There is that weekly farmer’s market in old town Clovis that starts at five, so stopping in and catching some of the local vendors would be a great way to get the weekend rolling. Friday sets the mood for the weekend, so why not make yours as enjoyable as possible?
Saturday: At the Wild Water Adventure, located at 11413 E Shaw, there will be fireworks by the lake. This is a great pre-fourth of July warm-up, but you must buy tickets for the park to get in. The fireworks start at nine so make sure you get there early so you can enjoy all that the park has to offer.
Sunday: For the artistically inclined, there will be a selection of Mark Bosch’ Coalescence, that is sure to stimulate the mind. This event is taking place from 11a.m- 5p.m at the spectrum gallery located at 608 E. Olive ave. There is going to be appetizers and wine served, so be sure not to miss out on this great event.
These are just some of the events taking place this weekend in and around the Clovis area. It all comes down to what you want to do, and we know you’ll make the right choice. Check back next week for our Fourth of July blog and, as always, we hope you have a great weekend. Remember: It all starts on Friday. Make it count.
