Events In The Clovis Area

The newsletter is out, and hopefully you’ve had some time to read it. There are a lot of gems in that thing, and we are all really excited to get more of those out to you. Also, we are going to be working on our September newsletters soon, so if you want to send in craft pictures, events, or stories now is the time to submit those to us. We would love to start implementing the voices of our community to make each letter more and more unique.

But there is a weekend to get to, and that’s what’s important here. So, let’s get to it.

Friday: The Clovis Farmer’s market is taking place. We mention this event every week because we love it so much, and it is such a great opportunity for you to get out and gather yourselves some excellent, local produce.

Saturday: Brings the Ice Cream Zoofari taking place at 894 W. Belmont Ave. Fresno, CA 93728. This sounds exciting and is sure to be a great time. Want to know more about it? Check out this little info blurb:

Sunday: For those of the more outdoorsy persuasion, Sunday brings the SAR  Wild Run Half Marathon to the area. Even if you aren’t inclined to spend your day running a 5-10k, there are still fun hiking events that are taking place. There is something here for everyone.

Experience the beautiful Sierra scenery of Shaver Lake! Run the NEW! SAR Wild Run Half Marathon, 10K or 5K or for those who just want to take it easy, we have a 2 mile Family Hike. Join us for this Fresno County Search & Rescue FUNdraiser! All participants will receive great goodies, a tech-shirt and unique medallions. All finishers receive a BBQ prepared by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team and finishing adults get a free beer in the beer garden! Event is chip timed and winners will receive unique awards! Water stops and lots of encouragement along all routes. What better way to escape the scorching Valley heat in August than to enjoy the coolness of the mountains at 5,400 feet elevation.
